The post operatory pains
They are reduced compared to the surface PRK, because the ablation zone is recovered by the corneal flap. The feeling of the saddle grain is replaced by the feeling of having a dust in your eye. You will feel this way during 6 or 12 hours. That kind of intervention reduces the risks of corneal haze, due to its action in the stroma. There is no epithelium cicatrization.

To avoid
In order to avoid the corneal flap unsticking, it's not advisable to rub your eyes and to wear a night protection hull, during the antibiotics treatment ( 15 days ).

Recovery
You can work again two days after the operation.

The second eye :
In general the second eye is operated after the first intervention, in order to obtain a good stabilization. In order not to unbalance your sight, you have to wear your glasses. Attention ! Be careful, because you must replace your old corrected glass by a neutral one.

Your sight after the operation
The results depend from the shortsightedness to treat. The lowest it is, the strongest your chances to reach emmetropia are . In the case of an under-correction, a treatment is possible in the 3 or 4 months following the first intervention. The corneal flap is not cicatrized enough to be unsticked and it will be too late and an other cutting will be necessary.
